ABOUT THE ARTIST

Devildriver

DevilDriver is an American groove/melodic death metal band formed in 2002 in Santa Barbara, California, by vocalist Dez Fafara after the end of his stint with Coal Chamber. From the beginning, the project took on a more aggressive and dark aesthetic, moving away from nu metal and diving into a heavy, fast sound marked by intense guitar riffs and characteristic guttural vocals.

The eponymous debut album, DevilDriver (2003), presented a band still in search of its identity, but already with the intensity that would become a trademark. The greatest recognition came with The Fury of Our Maker's Hand (2005), which consolidated the group on the international scene and paved the way for tours alongside big names in metal.

In the following years, albums such as The Last Kind Words (2007) and Pray for Villains (2009) reinforced the band's reputation as the relentless force of modern groove metal. Combining brutal weight and memorable choruses, DevilDriver has garnered a loyal fan base and a constant presence at metal festivals.

Later albums such as Beast (2011) and Winter Kills (2013) maintained the creative momentum, while Trust No One (2016) and the double series Dealing with Demons (2020–2023) showed a mature band, capable of reinventing itself without losing essential aggressiveness.

Live, DevilDriver is known for explosive concerts, led by Dez Fafara's charismatic delivery and the group's constant intensity, transforming each show into a collective catharsis for the audience.

Today, DevilDriver is considered one of the most consistent names in groove and contemporary extreme metal, keeping alive the flame of an aggressive and direct sound, true to its roots but open to new approaches within the heavy universe.
