ABOUT THE ARTIST

Imagine Dragons

Imagine Dragons, one of today's most popular rock bands, was formed in 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Composed of Dan Reynolds (vocalist), Wayne Sermon (guitarist), Ben McKee (bassist) and Daniel Platzman (drummer), the band quickly gained recognition for its energetic and engaging sound, which mixes elements of rock, pop, indie and electronica.

The band released two independent EPs, "Imagine Dragons" (2009) and "Hell and Silence" (2010), before signing with Interscope Records. In 2012, Imagine Dragons released their first EP under a major label, "Continued Silence," which included the single "It's Time." The song was an instant hit, achieving chart popularity and helping the band build a solid fan base.

The debut album, "Night Visions," was released in September 2012 and quickly became a commercial success. The single "Radioactive" became one of the band's biggest hits, standing out for its fusion of alternative rock with elements of electronic music. "Radioactive" went on to be one of the best-selling digitally chartered songs in history and won several awards, including a Grammy for Best Rock Performance. Other hit singles from the album include "Demons" and "On Top of the World."

In 2015, Imagine Dragons released their second studio album, "Smoke + Mirrors," which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. The album featured a more experimental sound and included singles such as "I Bet My Life," "Shots," and "Gold." The band continued to tour extensively, cementing their reputation as one of the best live bands.

Their third studio album, "Evolve," was released in 2017 and marked a new phase in the band's career, with a more pop and radio-oriented sound. The album included hits such as "Believer," "Thunder," and "Whatever It Takes," which dominated music charts around the world. "Believer" and "Thunder" in particular have become the band's anthems, highlighting the infectious energy and ability to create memorable choruses.

In 2018, the band released "Origins," which continued to explore the fusion of musical styles and included hit songs such as "Natural," "Bad Liar," and "Zero," the latter part of the soundtrack to the movie "Ralph Breaks the Internet." "Origins" showcased the band's continued evolution and ability to reinvent itself while maintaining its signature sound.

In addition to her music, Imagine Dragons is known for her philanthropic work. Dan Reynolds, the lead singer, has been an active advocate for mental health and LGBTQ+ rights, founding the LoveLoud Foundation to promote acceptance and support for LGBTQ+ youth. The band has also participated in various charitable initiatives and used their platform to promote important causes.

Imagine Dragons released their fifth studio album, "Mercury - Act 1," in September 2021, with production by Rick Rubin. The album includes singles such as "Wrecked," "Follow You," and "Cutthroat," continuing to demonstrate the band's ability to produce music that resonates with a wide audience.

In summary, Imagine Dragons is a band that combines a dynamic and energetic sound with emotive and authentic lyrics. Their ability to blend different musical styles and create catchy anthems has secured them a prominent place in the global music scene. With each new release, Imagine Dragons continues to evolve and delight, leaving an indelible mark on contemporary music.
