Ben Harper is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born on October 28, 1969, in Pomona, California. He is known for his ability to blend a variety of musical genres, including folk, blues, rock, soul, and reggae, creating a unique and eclectic sound that distinguishes him as one of the most versatile and influential artists in contemporary music.

Harper began to gain notoriety in the 1990s with the release of her debut album, Welcome to the Cruel World (1994), which introduced her distinctive style and introspective, socially conscious lyrics. Songs like "Waiting on an Angel" and "Walk Away" stood out for their emotional depth and blend of acoustic sounds with powerful messages.
