ABOUT THE ARTIST

David Fonseca

David Fonseca, born on June 14, 1973 in Leiria, is a Portuguese musician, singer, songwriter, and visual artist, widely recognized as one of the most creative and versatile figures in national music. Throughout his more than two-decade career, he has built a legacy marked by innovation, introspection, and a unique ability to connect with audiences through his art.

His musical journey began as the lead vocalist and songwriter for Silence 4, one of Portugal's most iconic bands in the late 1990s. With their debut album, Silence Becomes It (1998), the band achieved immediate success with hits like "Borrow" and "A Little Respect," marking a generation. After Silence 4's temporary disbandment in 2002, David Fonseca embarked on a solo career, where he explored new creative horizons.

His first solo album, Sing Me Something New (2003), stood out for its introspective and eclectic sound, revealing a new facet of the artist. From then on, Fonseca continued releasing acclaimed works such as Our Hearts Will Beat as One (2005), Between Waves (2009) and Radio Gemini (2018), always with an innovative approach that mixes rock, pop and experimental elements. Songs like "Kiss Me, Oh Kiss Me" and "The 80's" became emblematic of his unique style.

Beyond music, David Fonseca is a multifaceted artist dedicated to photography, audiovisual production, and graphic design. He is responsible for his own album covers and the direction of his music videos, reflecting his overall artistic vision. His creativity also extends to the stage, where he delivers engaging and energetic performances.

In 2023, David Fonseca celebrated 25 years of his career with the "Still 25" tour, performing at the Coliseums in Lisbon and Porto and revisiting the most significant moments of his career. This milestone reaffirms his status as one of the most innovative artists in contemporary Portuguese music, continuing to inspire fans and challenge conventions with his multifaceted art.
