ABOUT THE ARTIST

Linkin Park

Linkin Park, one of the most influential bands of the early 21st century, was formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The band's classic lineup included Mike Shinoda (lead vocals, guitarist and keyboards), Brad Delson (guitarist), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bassist), Joe Hahn (DJ and samplers), Rob Bourdon (drums) and Chester Bennington (lead vocalist), who joined the band in 1999. Linkin Park is known for its unique fusion of rock, nu metal, rap, and electronic elements, creating a distinctive sound that has resonated with millions of fans around the world.

The band's debut album, "Hybrid Theory," was released in 2000 and became one of the best-selling albums of the decade. With hits like "One Step Closer," "Crawling," "Papercut," and "In the End," the album catapulted the band to global stardom. "Hybrid Theory" was certified Diamond by the RIAA, and its blend of rap, metal and alternative rock defined a new era in rock.

In 2003, Linkin Park released "Meteora," which continued the success of "Hybrid Theory" and solidified their position as one of the world's leading bands. Singles such as "Somewhere I Belong," "Numb," "Faint," and "Breaking the Habit" became instantly popular and showcased the band's ability to create emotional and energetic anthems. "Meteora" also received critical and commercial acclaim, cementing the legacy of Linkin Park.

Over the years, Linkin Park has continued to evolve and experiment with different sounds and styles. Their third album, "Minutes to Midnight" (2007), marked a significant change in their sound, with a more classic rock-oriented approach and less towards nu metal. The album included hits such as "What I've Done," "Bleed It Out," and "Shadow of the Day."

Linkin Park continued to defy expectations with albums such as "A Thousand Suns" (2010), which featured a more experimental and conceptual sound, and "Living Things" (2012), which combined elements of rock, electronica, and pop. The band explored themes of technology, war, and identity, while maintaining their relevance and innovation in music.

In 2014, they released "The Hunting Party," an album that revisited their heavy rock roots, with a more raw and aggressive sound. Tracks like "Guilty All the Same" and "Until It's Gone" stood out for their intensity and energy.

In 2017, Linkin Park released "One More Light," an album that explored a more pop and accessible sound. However, tragedy struck the band in July 2017, when Chester Bennington was found dead, victim of suicide. Bennington's death was a devastating blow to fans and the music community, marking the end of an era for Linkin Park.

Despite Bennington's loss, Linkin Park's legacy continues to be celebrated. The band performed several concerts in honor of Chester and continues to be a significant influence in the music world. Their introspective lyrics, innovative fusion of genres, and ability to connect emotionally with listeners have secured them a lasting place in rock history.

In 2024, Linkin Park returns with new co-vocalist Emily Armstrong, from the band Dead Sara, marking a new phase in the band's history. This return includes the announcement of a world tour and the release of a new album entitled From Zero, which promises to continue the band's sonic evolution, maintaining its roots in alternative rock and nu metal. Fans around the world are eagerly awaiting to see how Emily Armstrong integrates with Mike Shinoda and the rest of the band in a new era for Linkin Park.
