ABOUT THE ARTIST

BTS

BTS, also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan or Beyond the Scene, is a South Korean band formed in Seoul in 2013 by Big Hit Entertainment. The group consists of seven members: RM (Kim Nam-joon), Jin (Kim Seok-jin), Suga (Min Yoon-gi), J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok), Jimin (Park Ji-min), V (Kim Tae-hyung), and Jungkook (Jeon Jung-kook). Known for their musical talent, elaborate choreography, and profound messages, BTS has become a global phenomenon and one of the biggest bands of all time.

BTS debuted in June 2013 with the single "No More Dream," part of their first album "2 Cool 4 Skool." From the beginning, they stood out for their lyrics addressing social, personal, and political themes, differentiating themselves from other K-pop groups. More releases followed, such as "O! RUL8,2?" and "Skool Luv Affair," which continued to build their fanbase.

In 2015, the album "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1" brought greater recognition to the band, with songs like "I Need U" and "Dope." The sequel, "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2," further solidified their success, culminating in the compilation "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever" in 2016, which included the hit "Fire."

The album "Wings," released in 2016, represented a major milestone for BTS, exploring themes of temptation and personal growth. Songs like "Blood Sweat & Tears" were huge hits, and the album was widely acclaimed. From that moment on, BTS began to gain international popularity, including their first number one on the Billboard charts.

BTS's global success exploded with the release of "Love Yourself: Her" in 2017, which included the hit "DNA." The album "Love Yourself: Tear" in 2018 and "Love Yourself: Answer" continued this trend, with tracks like "Fake Love" and "Idol." The "Love Yourself" series has been praised for its emotional depth and messages of self-acceptance and self-love.

In 2019, BTS released "Map of the Soul: Persona," which included collaborations with artists such as Halsey on "Boy With Luv." This album was a commercial and critical success, reaching the top of the charts in several countries.

BTS continued breaking records with the release of "Map of the Soul: 7" in 2020, which celebrated the band's seventh anniversary. It included hits like "ON" and "Black Swan." During the COVID-19 pandemic, they released "Dynamite," their first song entirely in English, which became a global hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2020, they also released "BE," an album that reflected the members' experiences and emotions during the pandemic. Songs like "Life Goes On" and "Stay" stood out for their sincerity and comfort during difficult times.

BTS is known not only for their music, but also for their impressive live performances and complex choreography. Their world tours, such as the "Love Yourself World Tour" and the "Map of the Soul Tour," have sold out arenas and stadiums worldwide.

Beyond music, BTS is active in various social causes. In 2017, they launched the "Love Myself" campaign in partnership with UNICEF, focused on eradicating violence against children and adolescents and promoting self-acceptance. The members also spoke at the United Nations General Assembly about youth issues and empowerment.

Throughout their career, BTS has received numerous awards and accolades, including multiple Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, and Grammy Award nominations. They have also been recognized for their cultural and social impact, being included in Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

With a career marked by continuous success, musical innovation, and a profound impact on global pop culture, BTS continues to be a dominant force in contemporary music. Their ability to connect with fans through authentic messages and extraordinary performances secures their place as one of the most important and beloved bands in music history.
