ABOUT THE ARTIST

Usher

Usher is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor, widely recognized as one of the biggest stars in contemporary R&B music. Born on October 14, 1978, in Dallas, Texas, with the full name Usher Raymond IV, he began his musical career in his teens and quickly became one of the most popular and influential artists in modern R&B, known for his vocal ability, innovative dance moves, and charismatic stage presence.

Usher gained notoriety in the late 90s when he released his debut album Usher (1994), but it was with his second album, My Way (1997), that he truly stood out and achieved stardom. With singles like "Nice & Slow" and "You Make Me Wanna...", Usher quickly became one of the most promising artists in the R&B scene, with a smooth and sensual sound that made him appealing to a wide audience.

In 2004, Usher released what would become his most successful album and one of the most iconic in R&B music: Confessions. The album, which includes hits like "Yeah!" (with Lil Jon and Ludacris), "Burn," and "Confessions Part II," not only cemented him as one of the genre's biggest stars but also made him a global phenomenon, becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time. The lyrics of Confessions address themes such as betrayal, love, and regret, which made the album even more personal and relatable for listeners.

Following the success of Confessions, Usher continued to release successful albums, such as Here I Stand (2008) and Raymond v. Raymond (2010), both well-received by critics and audiences alike. With the release of "OMG" (featuring will.i.am) and "Climax," Usher maintained his relevance on the music charts and continued to explore different styles within R&B and pop music.

In addition to his music career, Usher has also distinguished himself as an actor, with appearances in films such as She's All That (1999) and In the Mix (2005). He has also been an important figure in promoting new talent, as a mentor on the television program The Voice and as a producer of emerging artists.

With over 75 million albums sold and countless awards, including multiple Grammy Awards, Usher is considered one of the most influential figures in R&B and pop music. His career is marked by constant evolution, both in terms of musical style and image, solidifying him as one of the greatest artists of his generation. With a lasting legacy and a loyal fanbase, Usher remains a dominant presence on the global music scene.
