"Every Breath You Take," in particular, became one of the most iconic songs of the 1980s, staying at the top of the charts for several weeks and winning several awards, including the Grammy for Song of the Year.

Despite the huge success of The Police, tensions between the band members led to their breakup in 1984. Sting, however, quickly embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album The Dream of the Blue Turtles in 1985. This album was a commercial and critical success, standing out for its fusion of rock, jazz, and classical elements. The album included hits such as "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free," "Russians," and "Fortress Around Your Heart."
