The project gained notoriety in 2012 with the release of the EP I, EP II, and EP III trilogy, which were later compiled into the album Trilogy (2015). In 2018, Carpenter Brut released the album Leather Teeth, an homage to glam rock and 80s horror culture. With a conceptual narrative, the album tells the fictional story of an anti-hero called Leather Teeth, exploring themes of revenge and obsession through tracks like "Cheerleader Effect" and "Hairspray Hurricane". The album further solidified the project's unique identity.
