ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kasabian

Kasabian is a British rock band formed in 1997 in Leicester, England. The band was originally composed of Tom Meighan (vocalist), Sergio Pizzorno (guitarist and main songwriter), Chris Edwards (bassist) and Chris Karloff (guitarist and keyboardist). Their sound is often described as a fusion of alternative rock, indie rock, and electronic music elements, with influences ranging from britpop to psychedelic rock.

The self-titled debut album, Kasabian (2004), was a great success, highlighting singles such as "Club Foot" and "L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)". The energetic sound and provocative lyrics quickly garnered a large fan base, and the album was well-received by critics. Kasabian continued to build on that success with subsequent albums such as Empire (2006), West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum (2009), and Velociraptor! (2011), all achieving great commercial success and reinforcing their status as one of the most popular rock bands in the United Kingdom.

The band is known for its electrifying live performances, with Pizzorno taking an increasingly dominant role in the band following the departure of Chris Karloff in 2006. Their music combines catchy guitar riffs with electronic beats and a bold attitude, creating a sound that is both contemporary and rooted in the tradition of British rock.

In 2020, Tom Meighan left the band under controversial circumstances, and Sergio Pizzorno took on the role of lead vocalist. Kasabian released their latest album, The Alchemist's Euphoria, in 2022, showing a new sonic direction and the continuation of their evolution as a band.

Kasabian remains one of the UK's most influential and respected rock bands, known for their ability to innovate and their strong presence on the international music scene.
