ABOUT THE ARTIST

AC/DC

AC/DC, one of the most iconic and influential rock bands in the world, was formed in Sydney, Australia, in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Known for their energetic style and striking guitar riffs, AC/DC has become synonymous with hard rock and has left an indelible mark on music history.

The band's first album, "High Voltage," was released in 1975 in Australia, followed by "T.N.T." in the same year. These albums laid the foundation for AC/DC's signature sound, with songs like "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You want to Rock 'n' Roll)" and "T.N.T." becoming instant classics.

International recognition came with the release of "High Voltage" in 1976, a compilation of the first two albums, adapted for the global market. Success continued with albums such as "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" (1976) and "Let There Be Rock" (1977), which solidified the band's reputation as a powerful force in rock.

In 1979, AC/DC released "Highway to Hell," an album that took the band to new heights of commercial and critical success. Songs such as the title track "Highway to Hell" and "Shot Down in Flames" have become rock anthems. However, tragedy struck the band when lead singer Bon Scott died in 1980.

Determined to keep going, AC/DC recruited Brian Johnson as a new vocalist and released "Back in Black" in 1980, one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album, which included hits such as "Hells Bells," "You Shook Me All Night Long" and the title track "Back in Black," was a tribute to Bon Scott and marked a high point in the band's career.

Over the next few decades, AC/DC continued to release hit albums and tour the world, staying true to their signature sound and irreverent attitude. Albums such as "For Those About to Rock We Salute You" (1981), "The Razors Edge" (1990) and "Black Ice" (2008) demonstrated the band's ability to remain relevant and powerful in the music scene.

AC/DC is known not only for its music, but also for its energetic live shows, which feature pyrotechnics, cannons, and the iconic performance of Angus Young in school uniform, running and jumping across the stage while playing guitar. The energy and passion that the band brings to their concerts have captivated audiences around the world.

In addition to commercial success, AC/DC has been recognized with numerous awards, including induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. His influence is evident in the many rock and metal bands that have followed in his footsteps.

AC/DC's longevity is a testament to its ability to connect with fans of all ages, staying true to its roots while continuing to evolve. Songs like "Thunderstruck," "Whole Lotta Rosie," and "Rock or Bust" remain fan favorites, and the band's music is often used in movies, TV shows, and sporting events, solidifying their place in popular culture.

In short, AC/DC is a band that embodies the essence of rock and roll. With a career that spans nearly five decades, they continue to be a dominant force in music, inspiring generations of musicians and fans with their unmistakable sound and unwavering dedication to rock.
