Garry Kasparov is one of the greatest chess champions of all time, with consecutive world titles between 1985 and 2000. He was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, and became the youngest world chess champion in history, at just 22 years old. He left professional chess in 2005 and founded the United Citizens Front in Russia, a pro-democratic political platform. He also founded the Kasparov Chess Foundation, aimed at promoting the teaching of chess as a cognitive tool among children and young people. He collaborates with The Wall Street Journal as a columnist and, as a consultant and speaker, travels around the world to talk about strategy and leadership.
