Isabel is a widow for four years, previously married to famous tennis player Sam Winter, who died in a plane crash over the Atlantic. Isabel never dated in all that time until she met Jack, who crashed into Isabel's car. Wanting to get Jack out of her head, she started to date William, a university professor.
