Philip K. Dick was born in Chicago, in 1928, and lived much of his life in the California. After attending University of California, which he gave up, gave beginning his professional career as a writer of numerous novels, essays and collections of short stories, all in the genre of science fiction. In 1963, he won the Hugo award for The Man in the Castle High, which was followed by other works, awards and film adaptations.
