Arthur Herman é o autor bestseller de How the Scots Invented the Modern World e To Rule the Waves: How the British Navy Shaped the Modern World, que foi nomeado em 2005 para o prestigioso Prémio Mountbatten. Doutorado em História pela Universidade Johns Hopkins, foi professor de História na Universidade George Mason e no Smithsonian’s Campus no National Mall.
