Northrop Frye

Northrop Frye (1912-1991) foi um dos críticos literários mais influentes do século XX. Nasceu no Quebeque, mas foi em Toronto que se formou e terminou a carreira como professor emérito do Victoria College. Foi membro da Academia Britânica e da Academia Americana para as Artes e Letras. Harold Bloom apelidou-o, à época, «o maior estudioso da literatura ocidental»
