The Pain Of Mountains

Alex Sutherland has lived overseas for much of his adult life, beginning on secondment to the Diplomatic Service and ending as husband to the British Ambassador in Dublin. These poems are snapshots from his life, with the long title poem reflecting his experiences trekking in a remote part of Nepal before the tourists got there.
