ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Mois Benarroch

Nasceu em Tetuán, Marrocos em 1959. Aos treze anos emigra com os seus pais para Israel. Desde então vive em Jerusalém. Começa a escrever poesia aos 15 anos, e inglês, depois em hebraico, e finalmente na sua língua materna o castelhano. Publicou os seus primeiros poemas em 1979. Nos anos 80, fez parte de vários grupos de vanguarda e edita a revista Marot. O seu primeiro livro em hebraico surge em 1994, "Coplas do emigrante". Benarroch foi galardoado o prémio do Primeiro Miniostro de Israel em 2008, e o prémio Yehuda de Poesia em 2012, prémio Jacqueline Kahanoff em 2021 e em 2023 com o prémio Albert Einstein pelo conjunto da sua obra.
