Edgar Prestage

Edgar Prestage (1869-1951) conta-se entre os estrangeiros que mais amaram e divulgaram a cultura portuguesa. Inaugurou, como professor, a «cadeira de Camões» no King's College, Universidade de Londres. Doutor em Letras pela Universidade de Oxford, foi também professor de Literatura Portuguesa na Universidade de Manchester e membro da Academia de Ciências de Lisboa, entre outras instituições de grande prestígio. Destacam-se na sua vasta bibliografia, obras ligadas à história das relações diplomáticas na época da restauração da independência de Portugal na península.
