José Echegaray

PRÉMIO NOBEL DA LITERATURA 1904

Dramaturgo, matemático e político espanhol nascido em 1832, em Madrid, e falecido em 1916. Estudou engenharia e economia, foi professor e exerceu cargos ministeriais. Autor de vários tratados de ordem científica, em 1874 estreou-se na literatura com El Libro Talonario. Seguiram-se as peças La esposa del vengador, En el seno de la muerte e El gran galeoto, entre outras. Partilhou com Frédéric Mistral o Prémio Nobel da Literatura em 1904.
