ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Charles Bukowski

Charles Bukowski was born in Germany in 1920, but grew up in Los Angeles, where he lived for fifty years. He published his first short story in 1944, when he was twenty-four years old, and began writing poetry at thirty-five. He died in 1994, at the age of seventy-three, shortly after completing his last novel. PulpHe has published more than forty-five books of prose and poetry, including novels. Posting Office (1971), Factotum (1975), Women (1978), Ham on Rye (1982), Hollywood (1989) and Pulp (1994). He is one of the most well-known contemporary American authors worldwide and possibly the most influential and imitated American poet of all time.
