Producing Guanxi

Throughout China the formation of guanxi, or social connections, involves friends, families and colleagues in complex networks of social support. This book combines the theory of Pierre Bourdieu and the insights of symbolic anthropology to contest portrayals of guanxi as a function of Chinese political economics or a Confucian social structure.
