Barry Gifford é um autor, poeta e roteirista americano conhecido pela sua mistura distinta de paisagens americanas e loucura literária influenciada por filmes noir e Beat Generation.
É descrito por Patrick Beach como "como se John Updike tivesse um irmão gémeo do mal que crescesse do lado errado das faixas e escrevesse engraçado ..." É mais conhecido pela sua série de romances sobre Sailor e Lula, sexo a dois. protagonistas estrelados por estrelas na estrada.
