ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Mark Haddon

Mark Haddon nasceu em Northampton, em 1962. Trabalhou com crianças e adultos com necessidades especiais e foi também ilustrador e cartoonista em diversos jornais e revistas.

Em 1987, publicou o seu primeiro livro para crianças, Gilbert’s Gobstopper, ao qual se seguiram outros títulos dirigidos ao público infanto-juvenil.
Em 2003, alcançou um enorme sucesso com o romance O Estranho Caso do Cão Morto, vencedor de prémios como o Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize 2003, o Commonwealth Writers Prize Best First Book Award 2004 e o Whitbread Book of the Year Award 2004.
Depois de uma incursão pela poesia, Mark Haddon regressou à prosa com Boom! (2009), A Casa Vermelha (2012), The Pier Falls (2016) e O Golfinho (2019), o seu mais recente romance agora publicado pela Porto Editora.
