Nexus

Book 1

by Henry Miller
Publisher: Livros do Brasil, December of 2003 ‧

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Henry Miller

Henry Miller was born in Brooklyn, United States of America, on December 26, 1891. In 1930, driven by an adventurous spirit and a desire to dedicate himself to writing, he left for Europe and settled in Paris. It was there that, in 1934, he published his first autobiographical novel, Tropic of Cancer, which was followed, in 1939, Tropic of Capricorn, both banned for nearly three decades in the United States. In 1942, shortly after settling permanently in California, he began writing the Rosicrucification trilogy, Sexus, Plexus, Nexus, considered one of his greatest works, where he combines metaphysical reflection with explicit eroticism. Miller was one of the most remarkable American authors of the 20th century, whose insubordination, both in life and in literature, would strongly influence the so-called Beat generation. He died at home on June 7, 1980.
