Moisés Desce

William Faulkner was born on September 25, 1897 in New Albany, Mississippi. The decadence of the south of the United States of America, where he always lived, is at the center of most of his novels, among which stand out The Sound and the Fury (1929), Light in August (1932) and Absalom, Absalom! (1936). Awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1949, he twice received the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, with The Fable (1954) and The Mousemakers (1962). Central author of American literature and one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century, he died on July 6, 1962.
