Stephen Castles

Stephen Castles é Professor e investigador de Sociologia da Universidade de Sydney, na Austrália e Investigador diretor do Instituto Internacional de Migração (IMI), Universidade de Oxford, Reino Unido. É um sociólogo, político, economista, e atualmente dedica-se ao estudo das migrações e desenvolvimento, os efeitos da migração em ambos os países, de origem e de destino, o transnacionalismo e transformação social provocada pela mobilidade humana a nível global. Entre 2001 e2006 foi diretor do Centro de Estudos de Refugiados da Universidade de Oxford, e de 2006 a 2009 diretor fundador do IMI.
