ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Art Spiegelman

Arthur (Art) Spiegelman nasceu em 1949 em Estocolm. Estudou nos Estados Unidos, onde, com 16 anos, iniciou sua carreira de cartoonista. Foi ilustrador e capista da revista New Yorker durante dez anos e é co-fundador e editor de Raw, a famosa revista de BD e artes gráficas de vanguarda, que ajudou a popularizar artistas como Charles Burns, Chris Ware e Ben Katchor. Ensina na School of Visual Arts, em Nova Iorque. Os seus desenhos e gravuras foram exibidos em galerias e museus por todo o mundo. Maus foi galardoado com o prémio Pulitzer, com o prémio de melhor comic do Festival de Angoulême, com o prémio Eisner e com o prémio Max & Moritz.
