Editors is a British alternative rock band formed in Birmingham, England, in 2002. Originally composed of Tom Smith (vocals and guitar), Chris Urbanowicz (guitar), Russell Leetch (bass), and Ed Lay (drums), the band stood out for its melancholic and atmospheric sound, which combines elements of post-punk, gothic rock, and indie rock. However, In This Light and on This Evening brought out a new facet of the band, exploring a more experimental and futuristic sound.

Editors continued to evolve with subsequent albums, such as The Weight of Your Love (2013), which marked a return to a more organic, guitar-centric sound, and In Dream (2015), which combined electronic influences with the band's more classic rock style. Violence (2018), the band's most recent album to date, continued the exploration of more electronic and experimental sounds, but also maintained the characteristics that define Editors: intense lyrics, dark atmospheres, and high-quality production.

Throughout their career, Editors has become one of the most respected bands in the indie and alternative rock scene.
