ABOUT THE AUTHOR

David Moore

David S. Moore graduated with a degree in Mathematics from Princeton University and earned his doctorate in the same field from Cornell University. He currently holds the Shanti S. Gupta Chair as Professor Emeritus of Statistics at Purdue University, both in the United States. He has served as president of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and the International Association for Statistical Education (IASE). He is a member of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS). He received the national award from the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) for excellence in higher education mathematics teaching.
