Barbara Winton, filha de Nicholas e Grete Winton, nasceu em 1953 e morreu em 2022, aos 69 anos. Barbara partilhava com o pai a humanidade profunda, a persistência, a determinação e a empatia, inabaláveis mesmo perante os maiores obstáculos. Tornou-se uma ativista fervorosa, continuando o trabalho dele de apoio a crianças refugiadas, tendo criado o Sir Nicholas Winton Memorial Trust [Fundo em Memória de Sir Nicholas Winton], que o seu marido, Steve, e os seus filhos, Laurence e Holly, mantêm vivo. Com o objetivo de preservar a história do pai, recorreu a memórias, documentos e testemunhos para escrever Uma Vida Singular.
