Não é leitura leve ou casual, mas sim um estudo extenso, técnico e muito aprofundado sobre como a poesia tradicional de várias culturas antigas remonta a um protótipo comum. A própria reconstrução do vocabulário proto-indo-europeu aponta nesse sentido, com as narrativas sobre a luta de um herói/deus contra uma serpente/dragão a revelarem a persistência de formas verbais comuns a diferentes culturas com a mesma origem, da Índia à Europa ocidental. Por alguma coisa é um clássico e vale a pena lê-lo juntamente com o «The horse, the wheel, and language» do David Anthony. Em suma, é um livro denso. Mas não é o mel também ele denso e, apesar disso, doce?
