Este livro do Professor António Teodoro é um brinde à inteligência relativa a algumas das questões que mais nos afligem nesta passagem de século. E ainda que suas reflexões resultem de pesquisas realizadas em Portugal, elas são aplicáveis a outras partes do mundo, mormente ao Brasil, por uma série de razões, dentre as quais cabe destacar duas. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

António Teodoro

The name of António Teodoro is definitively linked to the history and struggles of education in Portugal in recent years. During the Estado Novo regime, he participated in the Study Groups of Secondary School Teaching Staff, which, after the 25th of April revolution, gave rise to the Teachers' Unions. He participated in the debate, elaboration, and implementation of some of the most significant post-25th of April reform processes in the field of Basic Education. For 15 years, he was the visible face of the demands of a recognized majority of teachers, first in the Greater Lisbon Teachers' Union (SPGL) and especially in the subsequently created National Federation of Teachers (Fenprof). He is a professor in the area of ​​Educational Sciences at the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies. António Teodoro inaugurates his career as a researcher/author with a unique and essential book for understanding education and educational policies in Portugal. He is the author of a vast body of scientific work and interventions in the field of education, published in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French.
