American writer Michael Cunningham was born on November 6, 1952, in New York City. He grew up and studied in Cincinnati, Ohio, where, at only fifteen years old, he decided to become a writer after reading... After finishing high school, he enrolled at Stanford University as a student of English Literature, earning his degree in 1975. He then transferred to the University of Iowa, where he obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1980.
