Bootblack

A self-taught artist, the Franco-Canadian Mikaël has been present in the world of comics since 2001. He publishes several short stories for young people, for which he is simultaneously responsible for the script, drawing, and coloring. With a recognizable graphic style, full of color and softness, he also creates numerous illustrations for children's books.
In 2010, it received a special mention from the Youth Jury of Prix ​​d'Ouessant (France), for the work "Félice et le Flamboyant Bleu" and twice, in 2015 and 2016, the Quebec City Grand Prix, Canada, respectively for "Promise, volume 2: L'Homme-Souffrance" and "Promise, Volume 3: Incubus". He has been working since 2006 on adult stories with more realistic artwork, sometimes collaborating with other writers and artists on certain projects.
In 2017, Mikaël began a new diptych set in 1930s New York, of which Giant It's the first title.
The second diptych, BootblackThe story narrates the lives of shoeshine boys in New York, and more particularly that of Al, who comes from a family of German immigrants, during the Second World War.
