Maaza Mengiste

Maaza Mengiste nasceu em Adis Abeba, Etiópia. Bolseira Fullbright e professora no programa de mestrado em Escrita Criativa e Tradução Literária no Queens College, escreveu os romances O Rei-Sombra (finalista do Booker Prize 2020) e Beneath the Lion’s Gaze, que foi eleito pelo The Guardian como um dos dez melhores livro africanos contemporâneos. Os seus textos podem ser lidos na New Yorker, na Granta e no New York Times, entre outras publicações. Vive em Nova Iorque.
