As a mother of three, I had driven my fair share of times to the emergency room for broken bones and stitches. In my mind, I thought this would be just another long night in the waiting room only to return later with some remedy of sorts. I told Alex not to wake his younger brother and sister, and I'd call him as soon as I knew anything.
