Nadia Hashimi, of Afghan origin, was born and raised in the USA.

His parents left Afghanistan in the seventies, before the Soviet invasion.
She has degrees in Biology and Medicine, with a specialization in Pediatrics.

After completing her medical studies, she combined writing with her profession and debuted with the best-selling book. The Pearl That Broke the Shell, which has sold the rights to more than ten countries.

She lives with her husband and their four children in Washington, D.C.
