Wingspan is a competitive bird-collecting game for 1 to 5 players. Players are bird enthusiasts (researchers, observers, ornithologists, and collectors) seeking to discover and attract the best birds to their aviary. Each bird expands a chain of powerful combinations in its habitat. Each habitat specializes in a key aspect of growing your aviary:
- Earn food tokens through custom data in the feeder.
- Data tower;

- Laying eggs using miniature eggs in various colors;

- Play Birds from a deck of hundreds of unique cards. The winner is the player with the most points accumulated in their birds, bonus cards, end-of-round objectives, eggs, food deposited, and cards stored under others, after 4 rounds. The 2nd Edition added a quick start set with 4 guides and 10 new cards to help new players.
