Yukio Mishima

Yukio Mishima, novelist and playwright, pseudonym of Kimitake Hiraoka, was born in Tokyo in 1925 and committed suicide in a highly publicized manner, practicing the Japanese ritual. seppukuOn November 25, 1970, he expressed his disagreement with the abandonment of Japanese traditions and the uncritical acceptance of Western consumerist models.
