Philippe Xavier é um globe-totter e é autor de uma obra eclética tanto por causa dos seus múltiplos universos como das suas paisagens variadas. Os seus livros levam-nos por vezes até à selva sul-americana (CONQUISTADOR com Jean Dufaux), ou às paisagens frias de França do século XVIII (HYVER 1709 com Natalie Sergeef). O seu herói moderno com um passado conturbado, TANGO (com Matz), leva-nos aos cenários do deserto boliviano e ao horizonte do Mar do Caribe.
