Xavier Dorison alcançou o sucesso aos 25 anos com o seu primeiro argumento, Le Troisième testament. Desde então, escreve em todas as áreas: séries originais como Long John Silver, Undertaker, 1629, Le Château des animaux ou, mais recentemente, Les Gorilles du Général e «one-shots» com Le Maître d’armes, Ulysse & Cyrano, ou ainda nas novas séries de XIII, Thorgal ou Goldorak. Os seus álbuns venderam mais de quatro milhões de exemplares. O autor escreve ainda para cinema (Les Brigades du Tigre), televisão (Paris Police 1905) e leciona na escola Émile Cohl, no Atelier de la NRF e na FEMIS. Vive e trabalha em Paris.
