William Douglas
William Douglas is currently a Federal Judge at the Regional Federal Court of the 2nd Region, which hears appeals from the Federal Courts of the states of Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo. He is also a professor and writer, with works published on four continents. He began his career as a lawyer and later dedicated himself to public service exams. His first public position was as a judicial analyst at the Court where he is now a Judge, promoted by seniority in a unanimous vote. At 23, he became the youngest police officer in the state of Rio de Janeiro, but his career in the police force lasted only five years. He was approved for the Public Defender's Office, where he was also the youngest, and three years later became the second youngest federal judge in the country. He has published more than 50 books.
