Wendy Mitchell
Wendy Mitchell worked for twenty years as a non-clinical team leader at National Health ServiceShe worked for the British equivalent of the National Health Service until she was diagnosed with early-onset dementia in July 2014, at age 58. Shocked by the lack of awareness about the disease, both in the community and in hospitals, she committed herself to dedicating her time to raising awareness about dementia and encouraging others to see that there is life after diagnosis. In 2019, the University of Bradford awarded her an honorary doctorate in health for her contribution to research. She has two daughters and lives in Yorkshire.
