Walter Tevis

Walter Tevis nasceu em São Francisco, em 1928. Formou-se em Literatura Inglesa na Universidade de Kentucky. Começou a escrever contos que foram publicados em revistas como The Saturday Evening Post, Esquire, Redbook, Cosmopolitan e Playboy. Depois do seu primeiro romance, que data de 1959, lança O Homem Que Caiu na Terra, em 1963, publicado pela Editorial Presença. Professor de Literatura Inglesa e Escrita Criativa na Universidade de Ohio durante catorze anos, mudou-se depois para Nova Iorque, para se voltar a dedicar à escrita. Autor de sete romances, incluindo três que deram origem a filmes de grande sucesso, as suas obras foram traduzidas para 18 línguas. Morreu em 1984.
