Vítor Sérgio Ferreira é doutorado em Sociologia e investigador no Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa.
Coordena o grupo de investigação LIFE –Percursos de Vida, Desigualdades e Solidariedades: Práticas e Políticas, e é vice-coordenador do Observatório Permanente da Juventude.
É professor de métodos qualitativos ao nível pós-graduado, em vários cursos de doutoramento nacionais e internacionais.
Tem como principais interesses de pesquisa temas relacionados com culturas juvenis e transições para a idade adulta.
