Vtor Pavão dos Santos nasceu em Lisboa em 1937. Licenciado em Histróia, divide a sua atividade pelas áreas da crítica, da investigação e do desenho teatral. Fundou o Museu Nacional do Teatro, que dirigiu durante dezanove anos. É o autor do primeiro estudo consagrado ao teatro de revista em Portugal, a obra Revista à Portuguesa.
