Vergílio Alberto Vieira (1950, Amares, Braga) licenciou-se em Letras pela Universidade do Porto, tendo lecionado até 2009. Poeta, ficcionista e autor de livros para a infância, publicou pela primeira vez em 1971, com o título Na margem do silêncio. Entre 1975 e 2000, foi crítico literário na revista África, no Jornal de Notícias, no Faro de Vigo e no semanário Expresso. Foi jurado em diversos prémios literários da APE, Pen Clube Português, Correntes d’Escritas, entre outros. Colaborou em inúmeras publicações e é cofundador da revista Delphica - Letras & Artes. Recentemente, reuniu a sua obra poética no título Todo o trabalho toda a pena, comemorativo dos 45 anos de edição. A sua obra encontra-se editada em Espanha, Bulgária, Egito, Moçambique e Brasil.
