Vanessa Simon-Catelin escreve desde sempre.
Estudou alemão nas universidades de Caen e Göttingen, e pedagogia no IUFM de Caen.
Torna-se professora primária e instala-se em Honfleur, Calvados.
Vive num chalé de colmo nas margens do Orange, um pequeno rio que desagua no Sena, com o seu cão, as suas galinhas, três gatos pequenos. e não muito longe dos seus dois filhos adultos.
Ganhou o primeiro prémio em concursos de contos e foi publicada pela primeira vez em Caen, em 2004.
