Nascido em Bolonha, em 1952, Valerio Evangelisti revolucionou e revitalizou a literatura italiana. O êxito incontestável em que se tornaram as aventuras de Nicolas Eymerich valeram a este ex-professor de História o prémio Urania, em Itália, e, em França, O Grand Prix de L' Imaginaire e o prémio Tour-Eiffel.
